IBS School of Cosmetology
Welcome to the IBS School of Cosmetology with two locations located in Oregon. IBS has been a pioneer in the competency format of education and all locations provide competency programs in cosmetology. We prepare our students to excel in this field by offering courses in hair design, esthetics, nail technology, barbering and massage.
IBS partners with industry leaders to provide the best possible environment to excel in cosmetology. The hair design program partners with Chi and Framesi, the nail design program partners with OPI and the esthetics program partners with MAC and Botanical Technologies. The combination of the facilities, instruction and vendors set standards that are intended to put student on par with contemporary high end salons.
IBS is pleased to announce the launch of a massage program at our Eugene campus. The massage program that will be initially offered will be a full time program that runs from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The curriculum consists of all the required subjects to qualify to sit both the Oregon licensing requirements as well as the national certifying exams (non-energy). It will be possible to move through the curriculum as well as the hours required to qualify to sit both the State and national exams in approximately 4 months to 5 months. During this time, students will move through instruction in the theory subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Massage, etc. Additionally, there will be an operating clinic that will permit valuable experience with the application of theory in a clinic setting. The focus of the program is intended to provide students with hands on experience with massage techniques and clinical practices that will prepare graduates for work.
Also new to IBS in 2013 is the launch of the advanced esthetics program covering the range of advanced esthetics services such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, Brazilian waxing, eye lash extensions, and brow tinting. IBS has extended its clinic hours to Mondays from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm to offer services in these advanced services (for the time being eye lash extensions and brow tinting are not offered). It is possible to schedule services for the advanced esthetics clinic online or during regular hours of operations i.e. Tuesday through Saturday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
